Dr Carling and and Mrs Gwenyth Carling have worked as medical missionaries, carrying out  medical, Christian missionary, relief and community development activities for disadvantaged communities and advocacy for persecuted minorities, in Nigeria and elsewhere, for over 60 years, and continue to do so in retirement. 

They have made a huge impact amongst peoples living on the edges (in remote geographies, as well as socially and economically). demonstrated an unwavering faithfulness to their lifelong sense of calling, which has continued in the face of both personal tragedy and quite incredible hardship of unfamiliar living conditions and constant exposure to the extreme demands of medical, relief and Christian service.

Dr David Carling and Mrs Gwenyth Carling are the inspiration behind NIDSG and the work we do. We owe them a debt of gratitude for decades of service.
